Question? And Look Here.

1. Who is a Fractional Controller?

A fractional controller provides executive-level financial leadership without the cost of a full-time hire. Think of it as having a senior financial expert on your team part-time, handling everything from monthly financial reviews to strategic planning. This approach bridges the gap between bookkeeping and CFO-level strategy, making enterprise-quality financial leadership accessible to growing businesses.

2. What is the difference between a fractional controller and a bookkeeper?

A bookkeeper focuses on recording and reconciling financial transactions, ensuring your books are organized, accurate, and up to date.

A fractional controller, however, operates at a more strategic level. Beyond maintaining clean books, we analyze your financials, identify patterns, implement stronger controls, manage accounts payables, manage accounts receivables, manage tax requirements, manage tax planning and help you make informed decisions that support growth and profitability.

3. What type of business do you work with?

We mainly work with e-commerce brands and project-based companies.

4. What makes you different from other accounting firms?

We operate at the intersection of controller accuracy and CFO foresight, bringing both technical expertise and strategic vision. Unlike firms that stop at reconciliations and reports, we interpret the numbers to improve operations and profitability. Our team brings CPA credentials, IRS Enrolled Agent status, and entrepreneurial experience we’ve walked in your shoes and understand the daily realities of running a business.

5. Do you offer one-time cleanup/project-based work, or ongoing service?

We offer both.

One-time and project-based engagements are ideal for businesses needing cleanup, accounting catch-up, system setup, workflow optimization, or restructuring before scaling.

Ongoing fractional controller support is for businesses that want continuous oversight, better clarity of numbers, and financial leadership without hiring a full-time controller or CFO.

You can engage us short-term or long-term depending on your business needs.

6. When is the right time to seek your services?

The ideal time to engage us is when you’ve outgrown your current bookkeeping solution, need better visibility into your numbers, are preparing for investor discussions or financing, or find yourself lacking the internal finance resources needed for growth. Many clients come to us during transitions whether it’s rapid growth, preparing for acquisition, or when financial confusion is limiting confident decision-making.

7. What Accounting Systems do you work with?

We specialize in optimizing and implementing QuickBooks, Xero, and Odoo accounting systems. Our services include custom setup, workflow automation, financial module configuration, and integration with banking systems. We also provide SOPs, automation strategies, and team training to ensure your financial operating systems support rather than hinder your growth.

8. What does the onboarding process look like?

After you sign, onboarding typically takes 2–4 weeks and follows a simple, structured rollout: we start with a kickoff call to confirm your goals, pain points, approvals, and close timeline, then we secure access to your finance stack (QuickBooks/Xero/Odoo, Ramp, Gusto, Google Workspace, Slack, and ClickUp). Next, we review the current state of your books and workflows, tackle quick cleanup items (like reconciliations and coding consistency), and create a prioritized cleanup plan for anything larger. Finally, we standardize how finance work gets done by setting up recurring workflows in ClickUp, communication in Slack, and a clear reporting cadence, so you have an organized month-end close, reliable financials, and a repeatable system your team can follow.

9. How long does it take to get started after we sign up?

Typically, we begin implementation within 10–15 business days, depending on the complexity of your books and required setup.
Clients needing only light configuration or oversight may start even sooner.

10. How many times are we meeting in a month?

Meeting frequency depends on your chosen service level. Most clients meet with us once per month for financial review, reporting, and advisory, while ongoing custom support clients may have weekly check-ins.
Additional meetings can also be arranged based on urgency or scope.

11. What is your response time to clients?

We respond to all client messages within 24 hours or less on business days, with priority response available for ongoing custom support clients.
Urgent financial matters can be escalated and addressed immediately where required.

12. Can you handle payroll, or do we need a separate provider?

Yes, we can manage payroll setup, processing, and compliance using Gusto depending on your engagement scope.
If payroll falls outside your selected service tier, we can integrate or coordinate with your existing payroll provider and ensure accurate recording and reporting within your accounting system.

13. Do you also handle taxes, or only accounting/bookkeeping?

We support tax strategy, preparation, and filing alongside accounting and reporting.
If you already work with a tax preparer, we can collaborate to keep books clean, ensure compliance, and reduce tax liabilities through proactive planning and documentation.

14. Do you work with businesses outside the U.S.?

Yes. Although our core clientele is U.S.-based, we work with businesses internationally, provided they operate using compliant accounting systems and supported financial frameworks.
Book a consultation and we’ll determine eligibility, model fit, and region-specific requirements.
